Melissa McCarthy

A native of Ellicott City, Maryland, Melissa McCarthy joined American Addiction Centers as a Treatment Consultant in 2011 and was promoted to Regional Manager of the Mid Atlantic team in 2014. Melissa received a full 5-year athletic scholarship as a varsity women’s lacrosse athlete and earned her B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007. Prior to joining AAC, Melissa worked as an Executive Sales Assistant in Global Business Development for the National Basketball Association. There she gained a fast and furious education in business development, strategic partnerships, politics and life. While her personal struggle with life after sports, depression and addiction landed her in treatment, Melissa’s willingness to surrender and to receive guidance has given her the gift of freedom from active addiction and a life she never imagined.

As a Regional Manager for American Addiction Centers, Melissa’s responsibilities revolve around finding new, non-traditional resources for individuals in need of substance abuse and/or dual diagnosis treatment to access it. Beyond uncovering opportunities, she oversees negotiation and execution of strategic partnerships and business contracts. Melissa is relentless in her pursuit of delivering customer service.
