AAC CEO and chairman Michael Cartwright was featured in a Fortune Magazine article speaking about employee drug addiction at work. The article cited an American Addiction Centers study indicating that 70% of managers reported feeling “guilty” about the way their direct reports’ addiction issues have been handled.

“Employees are worried about losing their jobs so, even in companies with really good [employee assistance programs], they won’t come forward,” said Cartwright. “You need to create a culture of honest communication, where people aren’t afraid to speak up.”
