Tours can be arranged for those seeking one. Most tours are done on Saturday and Sunday, but are welcome anytime during normal business hours.
Our admission process is quick and easy, and usually takes an hour or less to complete. If you fly into Memphis, one of our behavioral health technicians will meet you at the airport and drive you approximately 1.5 hours to the Etta campus. Transitions through levels of care are based on progress in treatment.
Dining is set up as a food service line with meals made by an executive chef. Patients are served 3 meals a day and also have their choice of a soup bar and/or salad bar. Sandwiches and other food items are available for those who do not wish to eat the main course of the meal. Patients specify on admission any dietary accommodations that they may need and all diets can be accommodated. Patients can work with a nutritionist to set up a meal plan that works best for them. Dining is grouped by programming and gender - young adult females, young adult males, adult females and adult males eat at specific predetermined times.
Housing at Oxford Etta and Oxford Resolutions strikes a balance between helping residents connect with the natural world and providing a safe, clean, and relaxing environment. At Oxford Etta, clients will live in cabins with 11 other people, and sleep in semi-private 2-bed rooms with private bathrooms. Oxford ensures that housing is gender-specific and will also try to house clients with other individuals in their age range. Each cabin has a television and a spacious lounge, where residents can go to relax, catch-up with their peers, and reflect on their time in treatment.
At OTC, we believe patients should have access to their technology to use in safe and responsible ways. Many of our patients have developed poor habits around the use of their technology, so sometimes we encourage a brief period of time away from their devices. After this time, patients will be allowed the privilege of using their technology. As with everything else, abuse of this privilege may lead to the loss of this privilege. Our staff will support anyone struggling in this area because we want to teach better decision-making, especially since technology has become a tremendous influence in daily life. Because early treatment interactions can sometimes trigger patients, our technology times are monitored by staff. If patients have reasonable needs, we will accommodate that need if possible.
If the patient consents, therapists will regularly contact the patient's chosen family and loved ones in order to keep them updated on the patient's progress, and to provide addiction education opportunities. Family counseling is available upon request.
Family programming occurs at all Oxford facilities every other weekend, from 9AM to 3PM on Friday and Saturday. This intensive family therapy program must be approved by a patient's counselor before visitation.
During your loved one’s treatment, we can work with you to plan a visit if the patient wishes. Family members will be able to visit their loved ones in and around the main pavilion of the Etta campus, each Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Visits are permitted after a patient has completed detox or been at the facility for at least 72 hours. All visits must be pre-approved by the treatment team.
