We Help With Substance & Alcohol Abuse
Depending on your addiction profile, this critical first step allows your body to safely detox from the substances on which it’s become dependent. The best chance for recovery comes through integrated treatment for both addiction and mental-health problems.
The time you spend on our scenic, secluded campus allows you to begin rediscovering yourself — redefining your identity apart from drugs and alcohol.
Some patients are able to continue working or attending school while receiving counseling, education and, in some cases, medical services related to substance use and abuse.
Loved ones are critical partners in the recovery process. Our two-day Intensive Family Therapy Program equips family members and significant others to support recovery and share in healing.
Returning to everyday life means putting your new perspective into practice. The right support can help you resist the call to return to destructive habits and relationships.
Oxford Treatment Center hosts monthly gatherings of our former patients in recovery, as those who have walked the same path provide encouragement to one another.
After patients at Oxford Treatment Center have finished the first step of medical detoxification and stabilization, you will begin a personalized daily schedule that is created by your treatment team.
Our treatment program is structured to include a rich range of experiential therapies in which each patient will take part. These aspects of our program are designed to help patients process the thoughts and feelings they will experience during their time in treatment.
Equine Therapy – Under the direction of a Certified Equine Therapy Specialist, patients at Oxford Treatment Center will interact with horses for a minimum of 10-12 hours during their stay.
Ropes Course Therapy – The wooded terrain surrounding Oxford Treatment Center campus provides a shaded setting for the Challenge Course, a series of outdoor elements and obstacles which patient groups overcome together through trust and teamwork.
Music Therapy – From conveying emotions through the rhythm of a drumbeat, to reflecting together on the lyrics of a classic song, Music Therapy adds new dimensions of expression as patients journey along the road to recovery.
Because young adults’ life experiences and clinical needs are different from those of older patients, Oxford Treatment Center provides a tailored substance abuse treatment program designed for our residential patients as young as 18 and up to their mid-20s.
Active Learning – Patients in the Young Adult Program devote more of their treatment schedule to experiential therapies including art, music, ropes course and equine therapy.
Wilderness Therapy – Extended outdoor experiences alongside counselors and fellow patients help patients address problem behaviors while fostering personal and social responsibility.
Responsibility Practice – Within their treatment program, young adults take on responsibilities such as feeding and caring for their own equine-therapy horse.
Extended Stay – In the interest of long-term recovery outcomes, patients remain in the residential program for six weeks rather than the standard 30 days and follow a more structured daily schedule.
Oxford Treatment Center’s Trauma Track is designed to help patients overcome the trauma in their past and enable them to more fully benefit from the overall treatment program.
Dual Recovery – Psychological trauma leads to disempowerment and isolation. Trauma recovery is about empowering the survivor and creating new connections.
By taking part in individual trauma-focused sessions and group trauma therapy, alongside Oxford Treatment Center’s substance-abuse recovery process, patients can begin to tap the strength within them and regain their capacity to trust others.
