Texas Outpatient Treatment

We offer the clinically appropriate client an opportunity to complete addiction and co-occurring disorders treatment as an outpatient as opposed to residential (or inpatient) treatment.

Our programs allow the client to live offsite while attending structured treatment onsite on a part-time but still effective schedule.

To accommodate the client’s family life, employment schedule, and community obligations, we offer flexible scheduling at two levels of outpatient care:

  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
  • Outpatient Program (OP)

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

In this program, the client lives offsite (at home, independently, or in recovery housing), and attends onsite treatment for three days a week, three hours per day, at a minimum. Our IOP services offer a planned, structured program of multidisciplinary services including individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and didactic groups. Additional services offered may include aftercare recovery groups, skills building groups, wellness activities, 12-Step groups, and trauma-based therapy.

Is IOP right for you?

The client who is appropriate for an IOP program is medically and psychologically stable, without acute medical issues requiring 24/7 supervision. The client may participate in this program after completing residential treatment to assist with reintegration into community or as stand-alone treatment program, depending on his/her clinical needs. The IOP client typically resides at home, with family members, or in a Sober Living facility.

Outpatient Program (OP)

While attending our OP treatment program, the client lives offsite (at home, independently, or in recovery housing) and attends onsite therapy for approximately one hour, 1-2 days per week. The OP client’s treatment schedule is flexible.

Is Outpatient Right for You?

The OP client is medically and psychologically stable and does not require medical monitoring. This program is the least supervised level of care at Greenhouse Outpatient, and the client is increasingly reintegrated into normal everyday life as compared to a more supervised residential program. The OP client typically lives offsite (at home, independently, or in sober housing). Usually, the OP client is fine-tuning the aftercare plan, employed (or seeking employment), and regularly participates in local recovery groups, sober organizations, or 12-Step meetings. At the OP level of care, the client is able to manage his/her co-occurring mental health disorders, perform family obligations, and attend work on a regular basis.

Each client’s treatment schedule is determined on an individual basis depending on the client’s clinical needs and recommendations from the treatment team. Morning therapy sessions are available by appointment, and hours of operation for Greenhouse Outpatient Center are 9:00AM to 12:00PM, CST, Monday through Saturday.

Motivational Interviewing

By using Motivational Interviewing (MI), we meet the client “where he/she is,” and work to nudge each individual from ambivalence about addiction to a genuine desire for change. We assist the client in recognizing the choices and actions necessary to make positive lifestyle changes.

12-Step Recovery

Greenhouse Outpatient incorporates 12-Step recovery principles and optional meetings into our co-occurring treatment. Our curriculum includes a section, What are the Twelve Steps? Steppin’ a New Life, to give clients a flavor of the spirit, benefits, and positive fellowship to be gained by participating in groups, both while in treatment and as a part of the aftercare plan.

Outpatient Levels of Care

Greenhouse Outpatient offers two different levels of care – Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) services and Outpatient Program (OP) services. Our flexible programsallow the client to live at home or Sober Living, fulfill life responsibilities, and begin reintegration into the real world outside of the treatment setting.

Embracing Change: Recovery for Life

We developed our co-occurring curriculum Embracing Change: Recovery for Life as a series of workbooks that uses interactive exercises to engage and educate the client. The curriculum features educational exercises that focus on self-awareness, recovery strategies, managing co-occurring mental health disorders, aftercare planning, and relapse prevention. While working our unique curriculum, the client attends addiction therapy groups scheduled according to an individualized treatment plan.

During our addiction therapy groups, the client is able to interact with peers, develop awareness and coping skills for relapse prevention, practice stress management skills, and learn behavioral strategies for reintegration into family life and community.
