American Addiction Centers helps with drug & alcohol addiction across Rhode Island.
At Clinical Services of Rhode Island (CSRI), we provide our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) treatment services for adults struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. This flexible program offers morning and evening treatment sessions Monday through Thursday that helps clients fulfill everyday family, employment, and community obligations while seeking substance abuse treatment.
IOP Highlights:
After a detox evaluation, if a client requires detoxification from alcohol or a particular substance, CSRI provides outpatient detox as a part of our program. These services are available to clients following medical clearance after a thorough medical, psychosocial, and behavioral assessment and determination by a physician that the client is medically and behaviorally stable.
After completing the CSRI outpatient treatment program, continue building skills to help face challenges that may occur in a newly sober lifestyle. Join us for a series of talks that deal with common topics relevant to addiction and life after treatment. These Aftercare Recovery Groups include therapist-led sessions in which clients may participate and share with their peers.
CSRI offers effective, compassionate addiction rehabilitation at several locations throughout the state. Each location offers flexible schedules and various treatment services:
Customized treatment plans are based on an admissions assessment, and will be periodically re-assessed during the treatment stay. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other effective therapies, we’ll help the client recognize the personal choices necessary to create a life of recovery.
Individual therapy, or “one-on-one” therapy, is a component of each treatment plan. Clients will work with an assigned primary therapist to discuss topics including the client’s addiction history, recovery skills for aftercare, mental health issues, and other needs as determined by the client and multidisciplinary treatment team.
Our treatment program is structured to include a rich range of experiential therapies in which each patient will take part. These aspects of our program are designed to help patients process the thoughts and feelings they will experience during their time in treatment.
These addiction therapy groups help to educate and inform clients on substance abuse topics, aftercare strategies, and assist clients in identifying individual recovery strategies that will help in aftercare.
With the client’s consent, CSRI recommends the involvement and support of family and loved ones during the treatment process. Family therapy sessions will be held onsite or via conference call, and frequency will be determined according to the client’s individualized treatment plan.
CSRI also offers a support group for family members, spouses/partners, and other individuals important to the client’s recovery. This group allows for family members to share their stories of struggle and inspiration, increase their understanding of addiction behaviors, and discuss aftercare strategies.
In addition to their scheduled IOP treatment programming, therapies, and groups at CSRI, clients are expected to attend Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings while in treatment. “90 meetings in 90 days” is recommended to achieve the experience of working the steps and being a part of the fellowships.
Clients participating in the IOP are expected to complete assigned homework exercises in our IOP program workbook. The program workbook contains recovery and abstinence exercises to create self-awareness about substance abuse, individual triggers, and avoiding relapse.
Planning an intervention can be difficult, and a CSRI intervention specialist can help to create an intervention experience that outlines a descriptive plan with options that are agreed upon with the client. We will guide the intervention discussion around the circumstances of your loved one’s substance abuse and formulate a plan that works best for everyone.
