AAC Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Lawrence Weinstein, was featured in Nashville Medical News addressing barriers to care in addiction treatment and potential solutions in the industry.
“It is upward of 20 million people, and we know that only one in 10 receives treatment,” he said. Then, there are resources allocated to addressing addiction. “There is only 1 percent of total medical spend that goes into substance use treatment.”
