Sazha Ramos, AAC’s VP of Military & Veteran Affairs, shared her story of recovery after service with Homeland Magazine. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy, Sazha experienced a debilitating injury during her service and found herself addicted to opioids after receiving painkillers during her long hospital stay. In the article, Sazha discusses her progression from medical use to misuse, the moment she realized she needed help, her journey to recovery, and her mission to help other Veterans who are struggling.
