Desert Hope Alumni Coordinator Shares on Resolutions & Getting Treatment in the New Year
Fox 5 MORE Morning Show spoke with Chris Boutté, Lead Alumni Coordinator at Desert Hope Treatment Center in Las Vegas. Boutté spoke about some important topics surrounding the new year.
Boutté and host Rachel spoke about the difficulty of keeping new year’s resolutions and moving forward in the new year. They discussed the use of meditation and mindfulness to help someone achieve their goals in the new year. They also discussed getting treatment for substance abuse, as the new year is a common time for people to seek treatment for alcohol or drug addiction.
Boutté teaches meditation and mindfulness to clients and alumni at Desert Hope. The practice has helped many refocus their thoughts and rewire their brains, two useful tools needed when dealing with the disease of addiction.
