Join Our Reps for Vets: Mission 22 Challenge!
Complete 22 pushups, 22 situps, 22 pullups, or a 22 minute walk to support Veterans.
Honor Our Heroes. Save Lives. Take the Challenge.
The Challenge That Became a Movement
It started with a simple act: 22 pushups to honor the 22 Veterans who, on average, lost their lives to suicide each day. The “22 Pushup Challenge” went viral, sparking conversations across the country about mental health and the struggles many of our heroes face after coming home.
Today, that number is estimated to be around 17, thanks to growing awareness, advocacy, and support. But even one life lost is one too many. That’s why we’re taking the movement further with Reps for Vets: Mission 22, a renewed challenge dedicated to supporting our nation’s heroes and continuing the fight against Veteran suicide.
What Is Reps for Vets: Mission 22?
In honor of Veterans Day, Reps for Vets: Mission 22 invites everyone to take part in a nationwide challenge that combines fitness, solidarity, and purpose. The mission is simple but powerful: move your body, raise your voice, and help shine a light on the men and women who’ve served our country.
In this challenge, we’re completing 22 push-ups, 22 sit-ups, 22 pull-ups or a 22 minute walk to raise awareness of Veteran mental health and support suicide prevention efforts.
A Day of Dedication
On Veterans Day, we will host a live event at our Las Vegas facility, Desert Hope Treatment Center. Mike Diamond—celebrity interventionist and AAC’s Director of Engagement & Intervention Services—will team up with friends and recovery advocates at Fit Club Summerlin to complete 2,200 combined reps of pull-ups, squats, and push-ups. The effort is designed to recognize the ongoing struggle many Veterans face and remind them that support is available.
The goal isn’t just to complete the reps; it’s to keep the conversation about Veteran mental health and suicide prevention going and have some fun while doing it.
Watch live on Tuesday, November 11th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. PT.
