The IOP, day treatment (sometimes called partial hospitalization), and standard outpatient therapy at AdCare’s outpatient facility in Worcester, MA, is offered Monday through Friday, four hours per day.

• Monday and Friday Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM. There are no virtual sessions offered on these days.
• Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Hours: 8 AM to 9:30 PM
  • 8 AM to 5 PM: in-person sessions
  • 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM: virtual sessions.
• Saturday and Sunday: Office closed.

During treatment, you may participate in a combination of evidence-based therapies and treatments, including:

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

In CBT, you work with clinicians to change dysfunctional thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that led to your substance use disorder.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

DBT aims to change negative behavior patterns by applying logical discussions that emphasize emotion and mindfulness interventions.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

In MI, you work to increase your self-generated motivation to change. The goal is to build your internal motivation to aid you in your recovery.

Early Recovery Groups

These structured groups focus on different topics relevant to the participating individuals. At the AdCare outpatient facility in Worcester, early recovery groups include virtual and in-person groups and men’s and women’s groups. These groups cover topics such as:

• Whole-person wellness.
• Relapse prevention.
• Co-occurring disorders.
• Mindfulness.
• Parenting in recovery.
• And more.

Individual and Group Counseling

Many outpatient therapy sessions take place in group settings, but the AdCare facility in Worcester also provides one-on-one counseling sessions. For individuals in the standard outpatient program, the frequency of individual counseling sessions is determined by the individual’s need/want for them.

AdCare Worcester also offers a women’s program and Seeking Safety programming as part of its outpatient services.

Amenities at AdCare’s Outpatient Facility

Participants in the IOP and day treatment programs will receive:

• Breakfast and/or lunch depending on the hours
• Transportation provided for patients living within a 15 mile radius of the facility
• Small group meetings (15 people or fewer)
