As a trusted healthcare provider, we at American Addiction Centers (AAC) are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of what we do.
Addiction does not discriminate. The disease affects individuals from all walks of life, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, religious beliefs, cultural background, ethnicity, age, socioeconomic status, or any other factors. Treatment shouldn’t discriminate either.
That’s why we at AAC constantly strive to make improvements in how we incorporate aspects of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
While the terms are interrelated, each has a distinct meaning.
Diversity refers to all the ways in which people differ.
Equity establishes and ensures accountability to policies and practices that give fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement to individuals while also eliminating the systemic barriers that prevent full participation by any individuals or communities.
Inclusion intentionally fosters an environment where all individuals feel empowered, heard, and seen.
As a company, we are committed to:
To that end, we never want language to be a barrier to treatment. Each of our facilities can accommodate individuals who call with questions in English or Spanish any time 24/7. Other languages require a translator, which we can be made available in a timely manner. Please call for more information.
Additionally, AAC offers specialized treatment programs for certain individuals to be able to connect with staff and peers who understand their unique challenges. These specialized programs include Veterans services, programs for first responders, services for members of the LGBTQ+ community, young adult programs, and more.
