This year, vapes and cartridges will be accepted as part of the National Drug Take Back Day on October 26. Dr. Mark Calarco,  AAC’s national medical director for clinical diagnostic, shared his insights on the new initiative and why this day is important for curbing prescription drug misuse.

“With prescription and illicit opioids accounting for 68 percent of overdose deaths, it’s important we do all we can to keep these medications off the streets and out of the wrong hands,” said Calarco in the article.
