Chief Medical Officer Speaks About Workplace Risk Factors for Alcohol Abuse
May 31, 2019
AAC’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Lawrence Weinstein, penned an op-ed for HR Daily Advisor detailing the pervasive nature of alcohol in workplace events and the relationship some companies have with alcohol.
“Beer fridges,” happy hours and other work-related gatherings typically have alcohol easily accessible, and Dr. Weinstein cautions HR professionals to take a closer look at alcohol in the workplace.
While there are a variety of professions that have high levels of alcohol use such as miners, lawyers and those in hospitality, it’s important to be vigilant in every field, recognize possible signs of abuse and remind employees of the resources available to them.
Dr. Weinstein’s piece can be read at HR Daily Advisor.
