Many have heard of ‘Dry January,’ the tradition of foregoing alcohol during the first month of the year, but a new and related trend is gaining traction called ‘going damp’ or living a ‘damp’ lifestyle.
Essentially, a damp lifestyle is a compromise between overindulgence in alcohol consumption and sobriety. According to experts, the idea behind this lifestyle is to recognize the role that alcohol plays in a person’s life, decisions and emotions, and then make the conscious effort to not indulge.
