Dr. Paul Little, the Medical Director at Laguna Treatment Hospital,  shared his personal experience with drug testing his daughters in a recent article in Parents Magazine. In the article, he encourages other parents to consider testing their own children in light of the current drug crisis in America.

“I recommend drug testing children beginning around age 12, or when they start middle school. I know it sounds very early, but you’d be surprised how many adolescent patients tell me they began using drugs at age 12 or 14. And, studies show the earlier drug use begins, the likelihood of it developing into dependence or addiction increases dramatically.” –  Dr. Paul Little

The article also gives parents tips on how to test their children and what to do if they get a positive test result. To read the entire piece, visit Parents Magazine.
