Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Lawrence Weinstein, was featured in a Bustle article regarding questions to ask a psychiatrist before beginning any mental health medications. Often times, the prospect of seeing a new psychiatrist can be daunting, so Dr. Weinstein contributed his thought on what patients should ask their doctors prior to starting a new medication regimen.

An important aspect of any medication is the potential for unwanted side effects, which is why Dr. Weinstein suggested this question as one of the first to ask.

“Getting an idea of what could be expected, the rare and common side effects that occur, and the psychiatrist’s experience with the medication will help the patient be more informed about their prescribed medicine,” said Dr. Weinstein.
