Walgreens Announces Narcan OTC Sales: AAC Interviewed in Coverage

Walgreens announced that it would be selling the opioid-reversal drug, Narcan, over the counter for around $130. The move was made in the hopes that increasing access to the opioid antagonist would decrease opioid overdose deaths. Gina Lazara from KTNV Channel 13 covered the story to find out why this is important in the Las Vegas community.
David Marlon, CEO of Solutions Recovery, spoke about the importance of increasing access, likening Narcan for opioid addicts to en epi-pen for those allergic to bee stings.
Bianca J., an alumni from Desert Hope Treatment Center, shared her story of overdosing where first responders had to give her five doses of Narcan to revive her.
