In recognition of Overdose Awareness Day, American Addiction Centers’ facilities will educate their respective communities on how to administer the life-saving opioid overdose antidote naloxone, commonly known as Narcan ©.
Last year, the country saw yet another record year of overdose deaths with more than 107,000 lives lost with the primary driver being the synthetic opioid fentanyl. In 2021, fentanyl was responsible for more than 88% of all opioid overdose deaths and more than 66% of total overdose deaths.
“Addiction Talk” host Joy Sutton will be the host of each facility’s training, which will stream live from the respective facility’s Facebook page. Registration is not required to attend and information about each facility’s training can be seen below:

Participants will have an opportunity for a Q&A with an addiction expert and will be eligible to receive a digital badge indicating that the attendee has been overdose trained by a leading treatment provider.
