Episode 69: Marci Hopkins

In 2015, Marci Hopkins was leading what seemed like an enviable life. She had career success in the media. She was married to a high-powered executive. She was living the American dream. But what others couldn’t see was that her life was built on an unstable foundation and that alcohol had taken over.
Marci had her first drink at age 8 and leaned heavily on drinking to cope with a childhood marked by familial addiction and abuse. Alcohol remained a constant in her life, a primary source of comfort, until one morning she woke up and understood that she could no longer live this way. That’s when she sat her husband down and uttered the life-changing words “I need help.”
Today Marci is an author and motivational speaker who thriving in recovery and passionate about helping others realize that there is life after addiction and why the work of recovery is worth it.
