  • Inpatient vs. outpatient treatment: Residential programs tend to be substantially more expensive than outpatient programs due to the level of care required.
  • Length of stay: If you need an extended rehab stay, your cost will likely be higher than someone who stays at rehab for a shorter period.
  • Amenities: Luxury rehabs may offer special types of therapy, upscale accommodations, and experiential therapy options. These amenities tend to increase the cost of your stay in rehab.

Does Insurance Pay for Rehab in Illinois?

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires nearly all health insurance providers to cover substance use treatment. Your level of coverage will depend on your specific plan and coverage level. 5

  • Sober living. Sober living facilities allow you to live with others who are working on their sobriety. You’ll live at the facility full-time, while also going to work and beginning to use the coping skills you developed during your inpatient or outpatient treatment.10
